       The day started with some melodious music and a good breakfast by eight .
Students are engaged in Medical camp  at 10 am  – events like blood grouping , Eye checkup , general health checkup , Dental check up
Also we had Parallel events  conducted to the children’s  like speech competition , drawing competition, Song competition on the other side .
Children’s are provided with Lunch by around 12 to 1 to refresh themselves .
Fun events to children’s  like games , songs , Dance etc continued after that .

Peoples gathered around there along with the kids and volunteers had a very nice laughing therapy by the show conducted by Erode Magesh  (kalaka povathu Yaru)   .
The  Day went good with a great Magic show  as well . All the kids from different schools contributed to the day as well by Dances , Drama etc
Finally Prize distribution to children’s along with vote of thanks to the doctors from different hospitals ( Deepam, Global hospital etc)  along with a momentum that hold the children’s paintings
Gift hamper to all the kids with a notepad, sweets and snacks, Mini pocket dairy  and also books. 

Medical camp conducted in Cantonment School, Pallavaram, Chennai on 19th Aug 2012 
between 10 am to 2 pm in association with hp social impact india, Girideepam, SHaDE, Free hearts, Care n Share 2012, Let’s be human,  Shiksha Seva Sadan and Imayam  teams. Participant Orphanage students of Various NGO’s namely

Doctors used to check the all kids  such a s General, Dental, eye check up , finding the blood grouping of the student , find out Weight , Height , BP , Temperature.
Privilege card has been issued to the patients who are in high risk category and also explained about the facilities which are provided in our hospital.


The Results of the camp as follows

The camp indeed up at 1.45 pm in the noon and the organizing committee provided food to the Doctors and staff members.

AUG 19th EVENT

We thought it’s time for us to do something bigger for the orphan kids apart from our regular service.

What is the event?

This Event is for the kids in the orphanages,

1. To get Sponsorship for their education – with their Academic reports

2. Get to know their health condition – Medical camp

3. To enjoy a day with us and kids from other homes – Fun events.

Who is conducting?

We (Girideepam) have joined hands with other service groups – HP group, SHaDE, Swarg, FreeHearts, Imayam, Care & Share, Let’s be Human and planned this event.

Though there are lot of homes in Chennai we have shortlisted only 5 homes (to whom we service every month) now..

We have collected the requirements of the home. The home is situated in
the
Villiambakkam Village,(Situated in Chengalpattu to Kancipuram road). It
is
run by Mr. Franklin Anandraj. Currently there are 55 inmates. After
discussing with Mr.Anandraj, we came to know the following urgent
requirements needed by Sirumalargal home.


* The home has not any proper place/person to wash the clothes of the 55
school going children. .
* The home is getting used clothes from some volunteers and trustees.
There
is no sewing machine to re alter the clothes.
* The home is depending on wood stove for cooking.


To meet the above requirements we have decided to raise funds for buying
the below items. Kindly contribute for the same and also forward these
mail

HOME.

17th June 2012 @ Nesam Illam

As a part of Girideepam Initiatives, we had a wonderful time at the Nesam Orphanage, on 17th June 2012, bonding with the children there and playing games with them.

The following activities were undertaken:

1. Distribution of chocolates [20 perks] to children

2. Distribution of Girideepam Initiatives School Bags [13 bags]

3. Distribution of Lunch from Hot Chips [17 Mini Meals]

From the 15 school bags [9 medium + 6 large], 8 medium and 5 large were distributed. Thus 2 school bags [1 large and 1 medium] are remaining with me. We can use this if we fell short of bags in other orphanages. Lets act on this at the earliest. 

The children rarely get to eat good food. So we decided to give them lunch from Hot Chips

June 17,2012.@ Vallalar Gurukulam, Medavakkam

On June 17^th we assembled in Vallalar Gurukulam, Medavakkam for our monthly activity.

This time it’s school re-opening time and so decided to sponsor school bags for the kids.

The price of one school bag is Rs.360 and it had the tag of “Girideepam Initiative” engrossed in it.

As per our plan we ordered the school bags for 28 kids and the bags are of small, medium and large size for the students of different classes.

Additionally, we bought slippers for all the kids in the home.

First we distributed the slippers and the children were happy to see those colorful slippers.. J

Since we couldn’t get the exact size for some of the kids we took them to the nearby shop and bought for them.

After these events we had our team meeting with the volunteers.

We discussed regarding the activities we will do on August 19^th.

As you all know there is going to be a big event on August 19, 2012 where we are going to assemble 5 orphanages together and get the sponsorship for those kids who excel in their studies, extra-curricular activities, etc.

Though we will be sending u a mail about the plans and events on that day we request you to block your calendar on that day and meet those kids who aspire for a bright future.

We would love to meet all the contributors and volunteers in August… J

Nesam Illam - Medical Camp

Our team visited one of the well-known orphanages, Nesam Illam on 18^th March, 2012.

The orphanage is located at Valasaravakkam, Chennai. There were about 18 children in the age group of 2 to 14. Mr. Paul takes care of these kids. We had decided to conduct Medical camp for the kids in that home. Apart from General checkup, we had also planned for dental checkup for those kids. We all gathered there around 10’o clock in the morning… (It seems like too early as it is Sunday J). 
Apart from essential items, our team also offered Medicines, Stationery, Sewing machine and Induction stove to the inhabitants of the orphanage. Picasa Web

Ms. Jessita Veeramallu offered training to orphanage warden to stitch some small items such as pouches, hand-craft embroidery, etc. which can be taught to those kids in future.  Some of our volunteers got mobile pouches and some people ordered too to encourage her. The warden is taking care of the kids during week-ends as she is working as a tailor in a garment shop during the rest of the week. One granny is taking care of those kids during weekdays.

Doctors arrived and the medical checkup started. Meanwhile we had arranged for the drawing competition and games that was likely to be held up in the afternoon session.

Both doctors gave the report that the children are physically good. After the medical camp, we conducted drawing competition and some games for the kids. Also the children were trained on some handicraft work with thermocol sheets. After spending some quality time with the kids we had cake cutting and distribution of chocolates and snacks.

We distributed prize for the drawing competition and also gifts to the kids. The children in the nearby area also participated in the games and competition. We all had a photo session with our team and enjoyed the day with lot of satisfaction and happiness.

Special thanks to our friend Dr. Raji and Dr. Somasundaram (Dentist) for helping us in this medical camp.

Vallalar Gurukulam Lease Agreement

      This day (20/01/2012) I am very proud enough to say that we are able to provide the lease amount to vallalar gurukulam in a short span of time and thus we were able to make the inmates to stay in the same place where they put earlier.  This could not happen without your support and I would like to thank our entire group members in making this work happen in a short duration.
     I would like to thank the one time contributors, whose generosity did not went in vain. Going further, I want all our group members to respond in the same manner in times of need. Thanks for the support you have provided so far and I believe that this support continues in the coming days too.
      Agreement singed on January 7 th 2012 and officially house owner hand over to 10th jan 2012. G. Chandrasekaran Our Team member put the witness signature and to took more responsibility to recover the lease amount. He him self collect the amount around Rs 60,000 /- and also collect Seventy-five KG rice. 

Since our recent support earned us huge credits. This was great achievement.  Iam appreciate all contributor and one time contributor to achieve the success.  As of now we need give future support also (Vallalar Grukulam).

About Anbu Karunai Illam  : There is another home Name Anbu Karunai Illam  which is associated with a Arulmegu Kolanjiappar temple at  My native. This temple is very power full and ancient and belongs to Shree Virudhagireeswarar temple. This temple allotted the free of land to government now it running by  Thiru Kolanjiappar Government Arts College, Boys Hostel, Girls Hostel and Collage Ground belongs to Kolanjiappar Land.  
Looks like all the inmates were well grown up and somehow got settled in various jobs because of their training/grooming. Now they are ready to either adopt a home (inmates count from 12- 200) which needs further assistance or to take in the children at various ages and help them by providing shelter, food, clothing , education, job training...Hereby sharing that address :

Girideepam Event On Hanuman Jayanthi & Christmas

     It was a wonderful day 24/12/2011  and 25/12/2011  as we celebrated Hanuman Jayanthi & Christmas with the children of God. The home for those kids has been located in Medavakkam, Chennai and the person who is taking care of these kids is Mr.Vinoth.

       As we have already visited this home once it was easy for us to locate and reach there in time. The kids could also identify us very well (They have a good memory capacity). As soon as we entered they started wishing us
“Happy Christmas”. We have arranged for a Medical camp for those children. Though they seem to be very thin in appearance doctors ensured that they are in good health condition except two kids. One had stammering problem and doctor  Dr. Mohmad Yhasin ., MBBS MD - Pediatrician recommended to take him to GH for Speech therapy and Vinoth told that he is taking him to Hindu Mission hospital for Speech Therapy.

 Another girl seemed to be very anemic and Dr.Raji gave her the medicines to improve her health. Apart from this Dr.Raji., MBBS gave medicines for common health problems they may incur in future. To our surprise some senior citizens and women in the neighborhood also attended our camp and got consultation from our doctors.

After this medical check- up it’s time for us to have some fun. So we conducted some fun events.

A guy who is interested in Chess started playing with one of Volunteer named Sandeep. Other kids started playing with balloons. One of our volunteer Ram brought his camera to capture these celebrations. And it was a thrilling experience as some posed for the camera and some took pictures of others with the help from Ram.

Then we asked the children to introduce them and get their Christmas gifts. The kids after introducing them started singing and dancing and happily received their gifts. Meanwhile the event was interrupted by a sponsor who sponsored special lunch for those kids came there to celebrate Christmas. 

And it was followed by cake cutting and lunch. And we also took some break and had lunch in a nearby hotel.

Post lunch we again reached the home and started distributing cakes and chocolates for the kids. And they have also started getting ready for a dance show in nearby place as a part of Christmas celebrations.

Finally we bade Good bye to those God’s kids and left the home with a happy heart.

 
Thanks to all those volunteers who helped the kids and made this Christmas to be a memorable day in their life. And special thanks to Dr. Raji and Dr. Yasin who helped us to conduct medical camp. Ram who captured these joyful moments.

About Girideepam
Our team, a group of young professionals from various sectors initiated this to serve the people who need our help to satisfy their basic needs. So we named our team as "Girideepam" to imply that we work to enlighten the life of people who needs our service.

There are 70 contributors as of now and among them there are 37 volunteers who work for our Girideepam team.

We provide help to Orphanages and senior citizen homes on a monthly basis based on the requests we get from people and friends.

Contributions are made every month by the contributors and they are transferred to Girideepam bank account through the SPOC’s (Single Point Of Communication).

Then the amount will be utilized for the Orphanages/homes based on the request we receive from them. Volunteers will buy the essential things required by the homes and visit every month to offer the service on behalf of the entire team.

We have provided educational help for the student named Raghavi who belongs to Balagurukulam, Ambattur.












We also conducted Medical camp for the children of Vallalar Gurukulam, Medavakkam.










We buy the necessary things like stationaries, medicines and grocery items for Balagurukulam, Vallalar Gurukulam and few other orphanages every month.














Apart from these we work on creating awareness among the people regarding self-employment, education for rural kids, tree plantation, utilization of solar energy,etc.








We continuously work towards the improvement in the life of Orphan children and their future by providing financial and moral support.
